From musicians and sports stars to political figures and comedians, they all have strong ties to Huyton.

17. Sir Rex Harrison
Sir Rex Harrison, born in Huyton, is well-known for his Oscar-winning role as Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady and for starring in the 1963 film Cleopatra, playing Julius Caesar.
The son of a cotton broker, Rex's film-star career spanned almost six decades.
In his early years, he lived on Tarbock Road in a property known as Derry Lodge.
16. Peter Reid
Bona fide football legend Peter Reid joined Everton FC in the early 1980s after playing for Bolton Wanderers.
The Huyton-born midfielder, who also played for England, went on to win two league titles with the Blues and was named the Professional Footballer's Association (PFA) Footballer of the year in 1985.
Reid also played for Huyton Boys football team in his early years.
15. Alicya Eyo
Alicya Eyo is well-known for her roles as Ruby Haswell in Emmerdale and Denny Blood in ITV's Bad Girls.
Born in Huyton, the actress and director grew up in Toxteth and moved to London in later years.
Alicya has also made appearances in The Bill, Casualty, Silent Witness and Waterloo Road to name a few.
14. Phil Redmond
Writer and TV producer Phil Redmond set up Mersey Television in the early 1980s and has created some of Britain's longest-running dramas.
Creator of iconic TV programmes such as Brookside, Grange Hill and Hollyoaks, Phil was born and grew up in Huyton.
In 2018, he received the City's highest honour, being awarded the Freedom of Liverpool.
13. Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard is one of Merseyside's most celebrated footballers.
Now managing Scottish football team Rangers, Gerrard lived on the Bluebell Estate and attended St. Michael's Primary, now Huyton with Roby CE.
The former Liverpool FC and England captain famously inspired Liverpool to their unforgettable Champions League fightback in Istanbul in 2005 as well as helping the club win two FA Cups and three League Cups.
12. Stuart Sutcliffe
True Beatles fans will know the band's original line-up and about bassist Stuart Sutcliffe , who was part of their famous Hamburg era.
Born in Edinburgh, Stuart spent his early years in Huyton and is buried in Huyton Parish Church Cemetary.
Throughout his childhood, the family lived on Sedburg Grove, St Anne's Road and Sandiway and Stuart went to Parkview Primary School, as well as attending St Gabriel's Church where he was head chorister in the choir, aged nine.
11. Carol Decker
Carol Decker, from Huyton, is best known for being the lead vocalist for pop group T-Pau, who rose to fame in the late 1980s.
The pop icon is known singing hits such as China In Your Hand, Valentine and Heart and Soul.
Carol has also ventured into solo projects over the years.
10. Harold Wilson
Former Labour Party leader and Prime Minister Harold Wilson was born in Huddersfield in 1916 - but has strong ties to Huyton.
From 1964 to 1970 - and again from 1974 to 1976 - Harold Wilson was not only the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, he was also the MP for Huyton.
His links to Huyton continue to be celebrated, with a statue of him in Huyton Village centre being one example of strong legacy in the area.
9. John McCabe
Huyton-born John McCabe is known for his successful and international career as a composer and pianist.
Discovering his talent at a young age, John was a pupil at the Liverpool Institute at the same time as Paul McCartney in the 1950s and in later years produced famous large scale works - including seven symphonies, 15 concertante works and eight ballet scores.
He was made a CBE for his services to music in 1983 and passed away in 2015.
8. Bert Trautmann
Former professional footballer Bert Trautmann, originally from Germany, has a unique link to the town.
Known for being a Manchester City goalkeeper and even playing with a broken neck in the 1956 FA cup final, Bert spent time as an inmate in Huyton's Prisoner of War camp off Longview Lane prior to his football career.
Trautmann, who passed away in 2013, is said to have worked in bomb disposal whilst in the camp.
7. Sally Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Huyton
British politician Sally Morgan was made a life peer as Baroness Morgan of Huyton in 2001.
Born and attending school in Liverpool, her background in politics and education spans decades, from serving as a board member of the Olympic Delivery Authority to being the Chair of Ofsted.
The Master of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, was also Political Secretary to the Prime Minister from 1997 to 2001 and was later appointed Minister for Women and Equalities.
6. Freddie Starr
Rising to fame in the 1970s after appearing on TV show Opportunity Knocks, comedian Freddie Starr, from Huyton, went on to star in a number of TV and game shows throughout his career.
From the Royal Variety Performance to being a contestant on ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the comic and entertainer went to Huyton Secondary Modern School.
Freddie passed away earlier this year at the age of 76.
5. Alan Bleasdale
Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Alan Bleasdale is renowned for his social realist works depicting lives of ordinary people.
Known for popular TV series' such as Boys From The Blackstuff and The Sinking of the Laconia, the BAFTA winner has written for stage and radio as well as the screen.
Born and raised in Huyton, Alan attended St. Aloysius RC Infant and Junior Schools and in his previous career as a teacher managed Huyton Boys football team.
4. Joyce Baker
Formed at the Vernons football pools company in the 1950s, The Vernons Girls ensemble were a huge part of the Liverpool music scene.
Joyce Baker, from Huyton, was one of the 16 members of the vocal-group who appeared on ITV pop show Oh Boy! and later married musician Marty Wilde.
The pair have four children, singers Kim Wilde, Ricky Wilde and Roxanne Wilde and youngest son Marty Jnr.
3. Lee Mavers
Formed in Liverpool in the early 1980s, rock band The La's are best known for hit single There She Goes.
Fronted by singer and guitarist Lee Mavers, from Huyton, the band was signed to Go!Discs in 1987.
The group have also briefly reformed over the years.
2. Stan Boardman
Comedian Stan Boardman, from Huyton, rose to fame after winning a holiday camp competition.
The veteran comic went on to appear on multiple successful TV shows, such as Opportunity Knocks, The Comedians and Runaround.
Stan also attended school on Rupert Road.
1. Barbara Pym
20th century Author Barbara Pym is known for novels such as Excellent Women and Quartet in Autumn.
The Booker prize nominee was educated in Huyton as a young girl before her blossoming career, attending Huyton College .
Originally from Shropshire, Barbara passed away in 1980.
