Newcastle United youngster Lewis Miley was an unused substitute at St. James' Park on the weekend but now has a chance to impress for England. The 16-year-old, brother of fellow Newcastle star Jamie Miley, appears destined for the top and has caught the eye of national team scouts with his impressive performances at youth level on Tyneside.
Miley has been cutting it with Newcastle's best young prospects in the Under-18s in recent months after proving a class above his own age group. The teenager featured in 45 minutes of football against Liverpool last season among players his own age but after scoring two goals in the first-half he was swiftly moved to the Under-18 group, where again he stood out.
Now the Magpies talent has a chance to prove his worth on the international stage after being called up to England's Under-17 side for clashes with Norway, Faroe Islands and Finland later this month. He will link up with the Three Lions on Tuesday, along with two youngsters from Middlesbrough's academy.

Newcastle offered Miley and a host of other youngsters scholarships last month as the club look towards the future. The midfielder has attracted serious interest from other Premier League clubs but looks set to stay on Tyneside for the foreseeable.
Used primarily as a No 10, Miley can also play further back in midfield if needed. He was offered a taste of a first-team matchday experience over the weekend as an unused substitute against Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao.
Lewis' brother Jamie is one of the eight young players offered a professional contract earlier in the summer after captaining Newcastle's Under-18's last season. "It's a big inspiration for the Academy to see Sean and Matty come through because it gives all young players the belief and confidence that we can get there as they've both been in my position," Jamie told NUFCTV recently.
"My brother, Lewis, has just signed a scholarship too so hopefully we can replicate the same in the future. I'm delighted to be signing my first professional contract at Newcastle. It's a very big achievement and a proud moment for me and my family. It is the club myself and all my family support so it means even more to me."
