Royal Challengers Bangalore's Dinesh Karthik is now the joint leader, along with Mumbai Indians' captain Rohit Sharma, of an Indian Premier League record that no batter ever wants to join. At 16 each, wicketkeeper-batter Karthik and opener Rohit now have the most ducks in the IPL history.
Karthik entered his name for the unwanted record in RCB's match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, when he was dismissed for zero by Adam Zampa.
After Rohit and Karthik in the list of most IPL ducks, it is KKR all-rounder Sunil Narine and Mandeep Singh with 15 ducks each.
Karthik has had a disappointing IPL 2023 so far. In 12 matches, he has scored only 140 runs at an average of 12.72 with a strike rate of 135.92. His best this season is 30.
RCB (171/5) hammered Rajasthan (59 all out) by 112 runs on Sunday to improve their chances of a place in the playoffs.
