The country registered 16,462 more Covid-19 cases and 27 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
There were 16,326 cases in the general population and 136 imported cases.
On Tuesday, 10,868 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,639,062 Covid-19 cases, including 415,627 cases this year, with 2,478,251 complete recoveries to date.
The death toll stood at 22,516 since the beginning of the pandemic.
