15 possible candidates to replace former Panthers GM Scott Fitterer

The Carolina Panthers didn’t wait long to make a move after wrapping up the worst record in the history of a 17-game season.

On Monday, the team announced they have parted ways with general manager Scott Fitterer. The decision puts an end to a bumpy three-year run, one that resulted in an overall 14-37 record.

So, who’s next for owner David Tepper?

Here are 15 possible candidates for Carolina’s new opening:

  • Dan Morgan (Panthers assistant general manager): Could the former Panthers linebacker have the inside track?
  • Samir Suleiman (Panthers vice president of football administration): Suleiman has played an integral part in shaping the current roster.
  • Adrian Wilson (Panthers vice president of player personnel): Another former NFL defender, this rising star landed in Carolina this past year.
  • Jeff Brown (Panthers vice president of football operations): Brown also came over to the organization in 2023.
  • Cole Spencer (Panthers director of player personnel): Hired as the director of college scouting in 2021, Spencer has spent the last three seasons with the Panthers.

  • Alec Halaby (Eagles assistant general manager): Given his franchise’s recent roster work and his background in analytics, Halaby could be of particular interest to Tepper.
  • Joe Horitz (Ravens director of player personnel): Like Halaby, Horitz’s success in his current role and his analytic approach may be appealing for Carolina.
