15% more weekly departures from Lucknow airport this summer

LUCKNOW: More domestic and international flights will be the flavour of the season at Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport.

The airport is all set to manage 15 per cent higher weekly flights in the upcoming summer schedule.

During the summer schedule effective from March 26 till October 28, the total weekly air traffic movements (ATMs) from Lucknow airport will increase up to 926 this summer, as compared to current 808 per week.

The domestic ATMs are expected to increase by 16% in April — 823 as compared to the current level of 706 weekly flights — while international ATMs will increase by 3% — 104 per week.

“During the summer schedule, there will be additional services to seven domestic destinations — Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore, Delhi, Mopa and Ahmedabad — and three international destinations — Bangkok, Muscat and Jeddah,” the CCSIA spokesperson said.

“Thai AirAsia and Salam Air will add one weekly departure to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok, and Muscat respectively, while Saudia will add two weekly departures to Jeddah from Lucknow Airport,” the spokesperson added.

In the domestic sector, GoAir will add 20 additional weekly departures to Delhi, four to Mumbai and one to Bengaluru.

IndiGo will add eight weekly flights to Mumbai, five weekly flights to Bengaluru and seven each to Kolkata and Indore, respectively.

The newest airline Akasa Air will add one daily flight to Ahmedabad, Mopa (Goa) and Bengaluru.

The Tata Group airlines — Air India and AirAsia India — will add three weekly flights to Mumbai and one weekly flight to Bengaluru, respectively.
