YAMUNANAGAR: Fifteen persons including 13 students, a bus driver and an attendant were injured when a school bus collided with a truck near Sadhaura town of Yamunanagar district, due to thick fog on Saturday morning.
The injured were rushed to community health centre (CHC), Sadhaura, where they were provided treatment.
Dr Amrish Mangla, senior medical officer at CHC, Sadhaura, said that the students sustained minor injuries and were discharged after treatment.
The driver and an attendant of bus were referred to trauma centre, civil hospital, Yamunanagar, as they received multiple injuries, said Dr Amrish.
As per the information, the accident took place at about 9am on Saturday, when a bus of private school situated near Marwa Kalan village in Bilaspur area was on its way to school from Kala Amb side. The police said that due to fog the bus collided head-on with a truck coming from Sadhaura side.
The truck driver managed to escape leaving his vehicle on the spot, said police.
Mansa Ram, sub-inspector (SI) deputed at Sadhaura police station said that they reached the spot immediately after getting the information of the accident.
SI Mansa said that so far they received no complaint from, but the matter would be investigated.
