Authorities in Aurora, Colorado, have detained 14 individuals in connection with an armed home invasion incident that took place at The Edge at Lowry Apartments. The incident, which occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, involved a report of an armed home invasion, stabbing, and kidnapping.
According to a press release from the Aurora Police, the preliminary investigation revealed that several suspects entered an apartment where two individuals were present. The suspects then allegedly took the victims to another apartment within the complex, where they were threatened and bound.
During the ordeal, one of the victims, a male, sustained a stab wound. Fortunately, he is expected to recover from his injuries. The victims were eventually released by the suspects, after which they contacted 911 for assistance.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. A news conference is scheduled to take place later on Tuesday to address the incident in further detail.
It is worth noting that The Edge at Lowry Apartments was previously associated with a viral video featuring armed members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA), a notorious Venezuelan gang, in the building's stairwell and hallways. However, as of Tuesday morning, law enforcement had not confirmed any direct link between the recent home invasion and the TdA group.
