The country registered 26 more Covid-19 fatalities and 14,900 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.

There were 14,708 local cases and 192 imported ones.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said that the latest 26 fatalities were aged from 45 to 99 years.

“All of them were elderly with underlying illnesses. Fourteen fatal cases were unvaccinated. Two had received one vaccine dose. Two others had their second dose more than four months ago. Two already received their third dose but had not reached the time when their immunity would become effective yet,” a spokeswoman said.

On Sunday, 9,810 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,609,209 Covid-19 cases, including 369,892 cases this year, with 2,455,504 complete recoveries to date.

The death toll stood at 22,462 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 764 so far this year.
