The case of a 13-year-old boy charged over a car crash that killed three women on Queensland's Fraser Coast is again before the Children's Court.

Police allege the boy was driving a stolen Mercedes-Benz on the outskirts of Maryborough on Sunday evening when he rear-ended a vehicle, which caused it to crash into another car that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Kelsie Davies, 17, and Michale Chandler, 29, died at the scene, as did 52-year-old nurse Sheree Robertson who had been driving home after a shift at the local hospital.

The 13-year-old was charged with three counts of dangerous driving causing death and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Media were denied permission to be inside the Children's Court when the case was mentioned.

Fourth woman remains in hospital

A fourth woman, 23-year-old Kaylah Behrens, was also injured in the crash.

She remains in hospital in a serious condition after being flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday night.

Queensland Health today confirmed her condition has improved, but she remains in hospital.

Support for the community

As the community of Maryborough, north of Brisbane, continues to reel from the crash and grieve the deaths of three locals, authorities are ramping up support services.

Wide Bay and Burnett District Officer Superintendent Anne Vogler said the impact of the crash has been widespread.

"I can only imagine what those first on scene are going through, but first and foremost the family and friends of those deceased and the young girl fighting for her life," she said.

Authorities are now offering face-to-face support for family, friends, and members of the public from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Maryborough Neighbourhood Centre, until Friday.

"The community needs to look internally to support services," Superintendent Vogler said.

"We will be seeking to provide further assistance through service providers."

Investigations continue

Superintendent Vogler has asked for the public's assistance as the possible involvement of a passenger in the allegedly stolen vehicle is investigated.

"If you were travelling between Maryborough and Hervey Bay on Sunday night, and if you have any information or dashcam footage that you think may assist police in this investigation, please contact your local police station," she said.

The 13-year-old boy charged had his case mentioned before a closed Children's Court today, and a committal mention is scheduled for June 27.
