£130,000 Porsche seized as police patrol 'large' car meet at Nottinghamshire tram stop

Police seized a £130,000 Porsche while patrolling a car meet at a Nottinghamshire tram stop. A number of vehicles were dealt with by officers during the gathering at the Toton Lane Park and Ride on Sunday night, April 30.

Nottinghamshire Police described the gathering as large and in a statement said: "We are here Beeston specials policing team and response officers are dealing with a large car meet at Toton tram stop.

"You are warned to stay away as a number of drivers have been reported for driving offences already. We are in the area and will remain here to keep a police presence."

Among the offenders was a driver whose car had been declared SORN (statutory off road notification), but their car was at the event. Nottinghamshire Police Sergeant Dilks said: "The driver failed to make sure his vehicle was road legal. The driver managed to tax their vehicle at the roadside at a cost of £414.

"Don’t attend a car meet with an illegal vehicle, It may get seized." While patrolling the event, a Porsche was also seized by officers.

Sergeant Dilks added: "The Porsche with a value of £130k was seized for no insurance whilst patrolling the Toton tram park.

"The driver was issued with a TOR (traffic offense report) and reported for no insurance, and their vehicle was seized."
