Twelve-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray tragically lost her life in Houston after disappearing while walking to a convenience store. Her body was found in a creek earlier this month, leading to a heartbreaking discovery for her family.

According to the Houston Police Department, two undocumented men from Venezuela have been accused of killing Jocelyn. Both men are facing charges of capital murder in connection with her death and are currently being held on a $10 million bond.

Jocelyn, born on December 27, 2011, was described by her family as a loyal, compassionate, and caring friend who had a zest for life. She had a love for animals and the color green, and enjoyed fantasy, including popular works like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Stranger Things.

Surveillance footage revealed that the suspects were seen with Jocelyn at a restaurant before the tragic events unfolded. The men allegedly killed Jocelyn and disposed of her body in a creek along West Rankin Road in north Houston.

The suspects, Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, and Franklin Jose Peña Ramos, 26, both entered the US illegally from Venezuela. They were apprehended near El Paso by US Border Patrol and released with a notice to appear in court at a later date.

Jocelyn's mother, Alexis Nungaray, expressed her anger and heartbreak over the loss of her daughter, emphasizing the bright future that was taken away from her. The family will hold a celebration of life for Jocelyn in Houston, followed by a committal service at the Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Gallery Furniture on North Freeway in Houston will host a reception to support the family after the service, as part of efforts led by Jim McIngvale, also known as 'Mattress Mack,' known for his charitable work in the community.
