The Christmas season is well underway, and so is the age-old tradition of wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.
Ugly Christmas sweaters originally became popular in the 1950s, as a result of sitcoms from the era. But it wasn’t until the 1980s that they gained notoriety. From that point on, ugly sweaters started making waves at Christmas parties, mostly in the form of DIY projects.
For example, cardigans had tinsel, ornaments and garland added to them.
Now, ugly Christmas sweater-themed parties are a staple that people around the world engage in and can be worn just about any time you are in the holiday spirit.
But a newer trend is that of creating a deliberately provocative or offensive Christmas sweater, which got us wondering: Which ones would you dare to wear to grandma’s house?
We’ve put together 12 of the most offensive ugly Christmas sweaters, with a polling button underneath each.
Let us know which ones you’d be daring enough to wear to your holiday function at gran’s house...
