It’s the last supermoon of the year in 2022, and this one is just as beautiful as the “super flower blood moon,” the “strawberry moon” and the “buck” or “thunder” moon.
It’s the “sturgeon moon,” and it was seen on Thursday night, Aug. 11.
Why is it named after a species of fish? From USA TODAY: It “[earned] its name from the Farmer’s Almanac because of the type of fish that was easily caught this time of year.”
