These celebrities were the best dressed at the Met Gala 2023, which was honouring famous designer Karl Lagerfeld.
The Met Gala occurs every year on the first Monday of May, with celebrities from all over the world coming together for the fundraiser for New York's Museum of Metropolitan Art, specifically the Costume Institute. This year's theme was in honour of designer Karl Lagerfeld, although some have claimed this was a controversial choice as the designer has made some problematic comments in the past.
However, this didn't stop some celebrities from nailing the theme and wowing fans with their outfits, and the red carpet this year saw everything from pregnancy announcements to a handful of looks honouring Lagerfeld's famous cat. Here are the best dressed from last night.

Sean Combs
Sean Comb, AKA Puff Daddy, makes the list for best dressed this year with a self-designed look on the red carpet. The rapper wore a camellia adorned cape, with the flowers made from custom satin and velvet, with an all-black shirt, blazer, and trousers underneath.
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway stunned in this white Versace dress inspired by 90s supermodels. The strapless dress was held together with gold safety pins, with camellia flower details on the bust. She wore it with a pair of white heeled shoes and had her hair in half-updo.
Jeremy Pope
Jeremy Pope brought the drama to this year's Met Gala with a 30-foot Karl cape that need five people to move it. The cape was designed by Olivier Rousteing, the creative director at Balmain, and was made from over 5,000 meters of silk chiffon.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa's understated vinatge Chanel gown was paired with a 100-Carat necklace from Tiffany. She was in charge of co-hosting the event with the likes of Michaela Coel and Roger Federer.
Doja Cat
Doja Cat really lived up to her name with her Met Gala look, which honored Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette. She really committed to her role, wearing facial prosthetics to look more cat like and even meow-ing in response to questions when she was being interviewed.
Harvey Guillen
The What We Do in the Shadows star was one of the first to arrive on the red carpet for the night, and set the whole tone for the evening. His pink tweed suit is classic Karl Lagerfeld, and he paired it with a pearl necklace and glossy black heels.
Pedro Pascal
Pascal wowed fans in his red-hot shirt and long coat, paired with a pair of black shorts and tall black socks, as well as a silk black tie. His outfit was designed by Valentino, from the fashion house's fall winter 23/24 collection.
Michaela Coel
Michaela Coel's jewel adorned gown meant she was literally dripping in gold on the red carpet last night. Her figure-hugging gown included 130,000 crystals, and was designed by Schiaparelli. She accessorised with an ornate gold necklace and chunky gold earrings.
Lil Nas X
Even though there weren't many clothes involved in Lil Nas X's Met Gala look, he still manages to look over the top. He has on a Dior Men thong, silver platforms, and cat-like bejewelled mask, while the rest of his body was covered in silver body paint and sparkling diamonds.
Florence Pugh
Florence Pugh debuted her shaved head for the first time at this year's Met Gala, but still managed to have all eyes on her dress. She wore an elegant white ball gown with a plunging neckline held together with a black bow, and a towering headpiece topped with black feathers.
Anok Yai
Model Anok Yai stole the show at this year's Gala, and has topped most people's best dressed list. Her gold and silver strapless sequined dress by Prabal Gurung cut a gorgeous silhouette with its dramatic hip flare design and streams of silver hanging below.
