A Dorset housebuilder has completed a £10m apartment block on the site of a former commercial premises in Poole.
AJC Group said the scheme on Wimborne Road in the suburb of Oakdale was its “fourth in quick succession” in the town, where its head office is also based.
The four-storey building will provide 35 one and two-bedroom flats, which have all been placed on the rental market. Eight Electric Vehicle communal charging points have been installed in a private car park for residents.
Work on the 0.66-acre brownfield site, the former location of a One Stop shop and a Motabitz car accessories store, took 18 months to complete, and the scheme was funded by AJC and a private investor.
AJC, which recently appointed Sebastian Janes as its new managing director, said it is set to deliver more than 200 mixed-tenure homes this year, reflecting a construction value in excess of £100m.
The firm said it currently has seven housing schemes currently under construction, with it recently completing an £8m housing development on the site of a disused depot in the village of Hazelbury Bryan in the west of the county.
The company has recently started construction at one of its largest projects, which will deliver 57 houses and apartments for Aster Group within the former Dorchester Brewery regeneration scheme.
