107 hospitals in Uttar Pradesh under CCTV surveillance

LUCKNOW: To enhance security and healthcare in government hospitals across Uttar Pradesh, 107 hospitals now have CCTV cameras connected to a HOPE (Health Online Parameter Evaluation) Command Center that operates 24/7.

The center was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak in Lucknow on Thursday. It is established on the fourth floor of the Health Directorate Building through a collaboration between the Piramal Foundation, UP-TSU, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Currently, hospitals in 54 districts of UP are monitored in the integrated center set up in the directorate. For this purpose, CCTV cameras have been installed at 16 locations in each hospital. A total of 72 people have been deployed in the command center for round-the-clock monitoring.

Aside from monitoring, the HOPE center's role is to analyze data and handle calls related to infectious diseases from hospitals across the state. "It will help provide improved healthcare facilities for patients in these hospitals," Pathak said during the inauguration ceremony.

He informed that the network has been installed in district hospitals, and there are plans to extend it soon to community and primary healthcare centers as well. The center also features real-time dashboards for various health portals and mobile apps, including e-Sushrut, e-Kavach, e-Aushadhi, e-Sanjeevani, and others. It is also integrated with the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM). Deputy CM said that the HOPE Center will facilitate real-time management of issues arising in healthcare facilities.

State Health Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh stated that the network will ensure access to quality healthcare for all residents, regardless of their location. This network serves as a unified platform for collecting health-related data, assisting in healthcare service planning, identifying gaps, and optimizing resource allocation.

The HOPE Network will also play a crucial role in consolidating health-related data, including health indicators, patient admissions and treatments, analysis of calls to the health helpline, frontline worker (ASHA and ANM) performance reviews, and information on the availability and usage of essential medicines in the state, he added.
