Tammy Slaton broke down in tears as she candidly opened up about her addiction to food and alcohol.
The 1000-lb Sisters star admitted she was "super depressed" and said she was "close to dying" because of her struggles, having previously been rushed to hospital after she stopped breathing in a weight loss facility.
The 36-year-old was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma last year, with her loved ones told to prepare for the worst.
Despite her body "shutting down", she survived and was even well enough to return to the food rehab centre she had been staying in.
Tammy has since undergone therapy to try and help with her struggles and get approved for surgery.
Speaking to her therapist in new scenes from her TLC show, Tammy said: "I got super depressed. I started partying, drinking, smoking."
Her therapist asked: "Almost anything can become an addiction, what is it that you got from food, or alcohol, or drugs, in the past?"
"Nothing," Tammy replied, clearly struggling to elaborate.
She added: "I don’t want to talk about it. I really don’t want to talk about all that."
Speaking to the cameras, Tammy said: "It was a hard time for me, a lot of mental health is letting go, I don’t want to go through that all again."
The clip then cuts back to Tammy speaking to her therapist, with the reality star breaking down in tears while refusing to talk about her addictions.
Tammy has come a long way since she was released from hospital and has been keeping fans updated on her weight loss journey, with many calling her journey "inspirational".
Taking to TikTok to show off her progress, Tammy recently posted a video of herself wearing a low cut top as she pouted for the camera.
Tammy styled her short wavy hair into two ponytails and fans took to the comments to praise her new look.
"Tammy you look great!!! You can see the difference in just your face alone," one fan wrote.
Tammy is in her glow-up era," another person gushed, while a third fan commented: "Look at you girl. I needed some inspiration. Losing weight is soooo hard. Keep up the good work. I’m so excited for you."
One of Tammy's followers said: "You’re weight loss progress is amazing! Keep it up girl!"
Tammy recently vowed she would not let her body "defeat" her and said her near-death experience has made her realise that she needs to make changes in order to avoid another health scare.
She told People magazine: "My near-death experience has taught me not to take life for granted."
"I now live my life how I want to and not how others want me to," she added.
"I told y’all that this wasn’t the end of me, the new and improved Tammy is on the way."
