1000-lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton admits she was 'big from birth' and shares rare baby snaps

Tammy Slaton has admitted she "was always big" as she revealed her mother had to buy adult clothes for her when she was just two years old.

The 36-year-old star of 1000-lb Sisters has finally achieved her goal weight and was ecstatic when she realised she was being approved for life-changing weight loss surgery.

Tammy has now admitted life "threw me some obstacles" as she gave fans a rare insight into her childhood and shared a series of snaps of herself as a youngster.

Speaking on 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy told the cameras: "Life threw me some obstacles, the lord knows that."

She then shared an adorable picture of herself as a child with long curly hair and a white T-shirt with her name on it.

She added: "I mean, I was always big, I was big from birth. Mom keeps saying, when I was like, two and three, she would have to buy adult clothes just to fit me.

"Like, that would cut the pants down, and just progressed. I got depressed and then it turned into a food addiction."

The reality star then claimed the "devil" tried to take her out, but she overcame the obstacles to get to where she needs to be now.

Tammy and her sister Amy Slaton often cite their childhood and their mother Darlene as one of the reasons for their weight issues.

According to the sisters, they were raised by the grandmother as Darlene couldn't spend time with them because of her work.

When their grandmother passed away, the sisters were left to their own devices.

Tammy has come a long way on her weight loss journey and was recently overcome with emotion as she told her family she has qualified for gastric bypass surgery.

In a clip from her show, Tammy rounded up her loved ones on Facetime to tell them the good news.

"Dr. Smith gave his initials and approved my motherf***ing surgery," she said.

Her brother Chris Slaton said it was the best news he's heard all year, before Amy congratulated her sister: "We told you you're strong enough to do it."

Later in the clip, Amy opened up about how proud she is of her sister.

"After her past failures, I really didn't think she could do it. But she proved me wrong," Amy told the camera in a confessional.

"I hope she feels like she's not left behind no more. Because she's probably going to exceed my a** and I'm grateful for it. There ain't no hard feelings on my part if she does.

"We're just gonna go from 1000 pound sisters to sexy sisters, b*****s."
