A SET of 100-year-old bagpipes have been stolen from a Scottish trad band on tour in Australia.
The Celtic rock group, founded in 2005 in Tiree, was completing their tour of Australia this week, when a car they were using was broken into.
The 1920s Ebony Lawrie bagpipes set was just one of several items stolen in the morning on Monday. An electric guitar, laptop, and camera were also stolen.
Posting on social media, the band said it was "an absolutely revolting end to what has been an incredible tour of Australia!".
The band called out to followers: "If any Melbourne pawn shops get offered a set of pipes or a USA Sunburst Fender Telecaster … or anyone spots them popping up online …please get in touch!!".
Trad artist Dermot Sheedy commented: "Aww lads, I’m so sorry to read this. Fingers crossed they come back to ye".
Singer Charlie Galloway wrote: "Really sorry to hear this lads, gutted."
"Melbourne not a safe city these days . So sad for you guys," another wrote.
A MacBook Pro (16 inch), a Sony A7iii camera, and a Sony Compact digital camera were taken alongside a Fender Telecaster (Sunburst) guitar which has unique modifications.
The band have toured across Europe, the US and China, and their songs have had millions of streams online. Spotify statistics previously showed only two Scottish cities in their top five most streamed areas, with London taking the number one spot.
