Cheeni Kum (2007) made it to the list of cult films for the kind of love story it portrayed on screen between a 64-year-old man (Amitabh Bachchan) and a woman half his age, played by Tabu. It also showed a beautiful relationship between an aged son and his 85-year-old mother (Zohra Sehgal). And, how can one forget Bachchan’s little friend and only confidante, Sexy — his 9-year-old neighbour, played by actor Swini Khara, who is diagnosed with cancer in the film.
Swini garnered attention for her flawless performance, which by many was touted as being at par with the senior actors in the film. Right from her dialogue delivery and expressions to the way she got her innocent demands fulfilled by Bachchan — all of it was just so adorable!
After Cheeni Kum, Swara was also seen in films such as Paathshala and Kaalo in 2010 and more recently in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) as Dhoni’s sister. Swini has also worked on the small screen in shows such as Baa Bahoo Aur Baby (2005-2010) and Dill Mill Gayye.
A decade on, Swini, now 18, has grown up to be a pretty diva and her pictures (shared on Instagram) will also take you on a trip down memory lane. Take a look.
