With school holidays beginning soon, it can be daunting to think of ways to fill those endless summer days.
With plenty of community projects and outdoor facilities, there is no shortage of activities for families and friends to enjoy this summer in Derry.
Here are just a few of the many events happening right across the city this summer.

Foyle Maritime Festival
The global clipper race is once again making a stop in Derry. To mark the occasion, the city's quay will be filled with festivities and food stalls.
An ever-popular event, visitors and locals will flood the street to enjoy the Maritime Festivities.
Wild Ireland
A fantastic family day out to Wild Ireland is a must for Summer.
Support this wildlife sanctuary which has saved many animals which have been exploited and abused in circuses, roadside zoos, illegal pet trade and laboratories.
Children can enjoy tales of ancient folklore, play in the play park and get some tasty treats & gifts from the Wild Ireland Shop.
Derry Girls Afternoon Tea
Fans of the hit Channel Four show Derry Girls will want to book a table at the Everglades Hotel for a very special afternoon tea.
The menu itself is inspired by the show and features the Cream horn shared by Granda Joe & his fancy woman, a cone of chips in homage to the Chippy fiasco, a classic Tayto Cheese & onion crisp sarnie, as well as a host of local tray bake favourites that would make Ma Mary proud.
Far and Wild
This nature adventure organisation has become a favourite feature in the city and along the River Foyle.
Far and Wild run bespoke adventures, connecting with nature as part of their every day.
The company provide great activities such as stand up paddle boarding, freedom cycles, blades in the city, moonlight kayaking and foodie city cycle.
Foyle Arena climbing wall
Derry's Foyle Arena is home to Ireland’s highest dedicated indoor climbing wall which caters for beginners to experienced climbing, with a range of routes to suit everyone.
Perfect for birthday parties, groups of friends or family days out!
Creggan Country Park
This well-loved park organise fun family events throughout the year to encourage people of all ages to get outdoors and improve their mental and physical health.
Throughout the summer months they will host wild days out, nature's classroom, nature therapy, outdoor yoga classes and open water swimming.
Echo Echo Summer Scheme
Join experienced professionals of Echo Echo Ensemble for a week of dance and movement for primary school ages.
The course will run from July 4-8, from 10:00am to 1:00PM daily. It is suitable for kids aged 5-11 and kids will spend time dancing, playing, storytelling and engaging in arts and crafts.
Carnival of Colours
Join In Your Space Circus for a weekend jam-packed with circus, arts and music across Derry's city.
On August 6 and 7 In Your Space Circus will take over the city once more with lots of exciting acts and a few surprises too!
Summer School Of Rock Week
For children aged 7 and up, the Arts Academy is delighted to be back with this Summer’s School of Rock.
This music programme will be an introduction to playing drums, guitar, ukulele, keyboard and singing in a fun group setting. Summer School of Rock week will cover a wide range of music from Samba drumming to rock and pop music.
The programme will run from July 18-21.
Summer Musical Programme
McCrea Music & Theatre will be running their first Summer Programme in August in Galaxy All Stars, Spencer Road.
The programme will be 4 fun filled days with all things musical, singing, dancing and acting for kids aged 6-11.
