While the summer hasn’t been kind to us (yet!), at some point in the coming weeks the sun will come out for an extended period across Northern Ireland.
With Co Fermanagh now seeing rising numbers of domestic and international visitors owing in part to its waterways and hospitality scene, there is now plenty to keep us occupied over the summer months in the county.
Whether it be a relaxing walk along a scenic route or something a bit more adventurous, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best things to get up to over the next few months in Co Fermanagh.

Share Discovery Village
One of the most popular local activity centres throughout the county, the Share centre is located outside Lisnaskea and has a range of activities for kids, families and groups.
This summer sees the return of the centre’s inflatable water park, with the park open every day throughout July and August.
E-bikes Corralea Centre
Fancy a cycling experience with all the beautiful views but less of the physical effort?
The electric mountain bikes can be hired from the Corralea centre in Belcoo or guided tours can be arranged to take you through the forest.
Lough Navar viewpoint
Driving to the top of the viewpoint, you can see views over three separate counties.
A bird’s eye view over Lower Lough Erne is the reward at the top and is perfect for a summer drive.
Take an Enniskillen boat tour
MK Kestrel and Erne Water Taxi take visitors on a tour over Enniskillen’s waterways and shows off some of the town’s most well-known landmarks.
There’s nothing better than getting out and making the most of the natural waterways around the county.
Wild Caving, Boho
A maze of underground passages awaits in the small village of Boho - a unique opportunity to explore what’s under our feet.
No caving experience is necessary to go on these tours as experienced guides can take you around the caves.
Cuilcagh Boardwalk
Hardly a hidden gem at this stage, but it’s still hard to beat walking up those famous steps and reaching the top with the views to beat any other.
The ‘Stairway to Heaven’ has become a tourist hotspot in recent years and is still well worth a visit for epic photos and a day out.
Segways, Killyfole Lough
The local nature reserve at the Killyfole Lough offers segway tours as well as a variety of other ways to explore the local area.
Jump on to one of these electric vehicles and zip along the lough at your own pace.
Live music
Enniskillen has a great reputation for a night out, with lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from.
Many of those have live music several nights a week, pull up a stool and make the most of some of the local talent on display over the summer.
Boatyard Distillery Tour
Not every county in Ireland is home to award-winning gins with the reputation of Boatyard, so why not make the most of what’s on our doorstep?
Guided tours of the distillery run daily, and you can now even sample the famous products after a recent legislation change.
Take a food tour
There are some energetic local food enthusiasts who have endeavoured to show off the best of the culinary hotspots in Enniskillen.
The Enniskillen Taste Experience has proven popular with locals and visitors - and it’s easy to see why as it gives you a flavour of some of the local foodie highlights.
