The New York Police Department (NYPD) has reassured the public that the shooting incident outside the Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, Queens on New Year's Day was not a terrorist attack. The incident occurred around 11:18 p.m. when officers received multiple 911 calls reporting several people shot at a private event.

According to police reports, three to four males approached the venue and opened fire over 30 times in the direction of a group standing in line outside the event, hitting multiple vehicles. The suspects then fled the scene in a light-colored sedan with out-of-state plates, heading westbound on 91st Street towards 143rd Place.

Ten individuals, six females, and four males, were injured in the shooting and were promptly transported to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, none of the victims are in critical condition, and all are expected to recover.
