10 of latest criminals to face justice before the courts in Nottingham

The latest cases before the courts in Nottingham ranged from a nasty robbery on a 78-year-old pensioner, and a mean offence where a housemate and a man burgled a vulnerable woman's room.

The highest sentence this week went to a 26-year-old man who beat and knifed his friend - but neither of them can remember the incident for different reasons.

John Ward

Ward, 41, of Victoria Street, Ironville, robbed a 78-year-old man of his wallet in in Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough.

He was jailed for 35 months after pleading guilty to robbery. Read the full story here

Leanne Pemberton and James Cumberpatch

Leanne Pemberton, 34, of no fixed address, and James Cumberpatch, 45, of Nottingham Road, Basford, burgled the room of a property. Pemberton was living with others at the house in Alfreton Road, Radford.

She was jailed for 14 months on Wednesday, January 19, while Cumberpatch was jailed for three years. Read the full story here

Mark Lawson

Mark Lawson, 44, of Eugene Gardens, The Meadows, was jailed after targeting a number of properties in West Bridgford.

He was found guilty of three counts of burglary, three of fraud by false representation, two of theft and two of attempted burglary. Read the full story here

Leon Smart

Leon Smart, 36, of Reginald Road, Deptford, London, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, and possessing a prohibited weapon, in Old Basford.

Jonathan Quinn

Jonathan Quinn, 62, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and common assault after attacking a couple in a pub in High Street, East Markham.

Quinn was released on licence in 2017, having served half of a 21-year prison sentence, but his licence was revoked after he reoffended. Read the full story here

Shaun Kennelly

Shaun Kennelly, 25, of Cross Street, Newark, robbed an 86-year-old woman in her home. He pleaded guilty to robbery, dangerous driving, aggravated-vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and criminal damage.

He was sentenced to four years and five months in prison, handed a 10-year restraining order, and a three-year driving ban. Read the full story here

Michael Jamson

Michael Jamson, 30, was jailed for two-and-a-half years after strangling a woman in Eastwood until she could no longer breathe.

He pleaded guilty to assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, battery, intentional strangulation, and breaching a restraining order. Read the full story here

Luke Hawkins

Luke Hawkins, 25, of Kedleston Road in Worksop, was jailed for 16 weeks after he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of shop theft.

He repeatedly targeted a branch of Sainsbury's in the town as well as several other shops in the area. Read the full story here

Sebastian Teos

Sebastian Teos, 26, of Palm Street, Basford, was jailed for eight years on Friday (January 20) for causing grievous bodily harm to a friend. Victim, fellow Pole Czeslaw Fraszczak, spent weeks in intensive care after he was put in an induced coma over his injuries.

He was handed two extra years on licence on release following the attack in Longmead Drive, Daybrook.
