The New Orleans Saints haven’t hit a 6-9 record for no reason. Too many players have performed beneath expectations, which is reflected in the overall player grades from Pro Football Focus. So let’s shine a light on some of those problematic areas.
PFF’s player grades are too subjective to be very useful, but they do give us an idea of who is on the field most often and generally responsible for positive and negative plays. They’re a decent starting-point for real analysis.
We’re limiting focus to players who have been on the field for at least 100 snaps with the offense to weed out those who have only participated in a game or two. However, here are a few players who missed the cut due to that snaps restriction:
LG Lewis Kidd (28.5 grade on 69 snaps)
LT Landon Young (44.5 grade on 94 snaps)
WR Keith Kirkwood (54.9 grade on 97 snaps)
