10 brilliant events in Liverpool to look forward to in 2023

It's officially 2023, and for those who love a gig or two, we've got some great news - the new year is brimming with events.

The year of 2022 had some seriously memorable events, from Liverpool Comic Con to the Randox Grand National, and later on in the year the popular River of Light. 2023 is set to be even better, with a range of different gigs and sporting events, there really is something for everyone.

We've rounded up a list of 10 brilliant events to look forward to in Liverpool in 2023. It's safe to say this year is going to be a big one.

Eurovision 2023

It's almost time for the moment we've all been waiting for, Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool! The prestigious event will come to the city on Saturday May 13, and although nothing is set in stone regarding timelines and tickets, we've got some more information on it here.

The Grand National 2023

This year, the Grand National 2023 will take place on Saturday April 15. The opening day will be on April 13, with Ladies Day taking place on April 14.

Peter Kay

The wait is finally over, and the much-loved comedian Peter Kay is finally coming to Liverpool this January. It may have proven very difficult for some to snap up tickets, but those lucky ones will get to see him perform at the M&S Bank Arena on January 6-7.

With over 100 shows in total across 2023-2025, his tour is set to be a memorable one. The comedian has also added an extra date for Liverpool in November 22, 2025. You can get tickets for that show here.

Elton John

This year, Elton John will bring his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour to the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool in March 2023. Originally due to take place on Saturday April 22 and Sunday April 23, the show has been rescheduled to Thursday March 23 and Friday March 24 after the news of Liverpool hosting Eurovision.

Disney On Ice

Popular adventure filled show Disney On Ice is back at the M&S Bank Arena on March 16-19 this year, with high-flying acrobatics, stunts, and world-class skating. Search for Tinker Bell through the immersive worlds like Coco, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid and more.

Premier League Darts

Sport's 'biggest party' will return to venues across Europe next year, with the Premier League set to be played across 17 nights from February to May. Premier League Darts will return to Liverpool on March 9, 2023, where eight players will compete each night in a knockout format before the top four players from the final league table progress to the Play-Offs.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals

On May 30, Strictly Come Dancing; The Professionals, will visit the M&S Bank Arena as part of a huge UK tour. The show will feature talent of the TV's popular professional dancers, performing with a range of stunning costumes and sparkling sets.

The audience can enjoy world-class dancing from Dianne Buswell, Vito Coppola, Carlos Gu, Karen Hauer, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, and Nancy Xu.

Disney 100 - The Concert

Coming to the M&S Bank Arena on June 2, 2023, Disney 100 – The Concert will feature legendary film scenes on giant screen. Including magical musical moments from the Hollywood Sound Orchestra, the show will feature songs from Beauty and the Best, Mary Poppins, Encanto and more.

There will also be highlights from Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel, along with star soloists for a multimedia experience.

The 1975

Popular band The 1975 will return to Liverpool on January 26, 2023. The band will be supported by Bonnie Kemplay, performing hits from their new album 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language' as well as classic hits from previous albums.

Thank You for the Music

Calling all ABBA fans, this might be the one for you. The international tribute show Thank you for the Music will visit the M&S Bank Arena on February 24, 2023.


Now in its 20th year, with a brand-new show for 2023, the show will combine colourful costumes and iconic harmonies. Dance along to all the hits including Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, and many more.
