10 best value holidays for Brits in 2023 - how to make your money stretch further

Pay day is finally here and if you're over the winter weather, there are plenty of holiday deals to be found including hotspots like France, Greece, Spain and Turkey.

With the cost of living crisis it's not just about the deals - it's also about where you can get the most bang for your buck - so the Mirror has teamed up with Travelsupermarket to unearth the best value holidays,

The research highlighted a number of resorts, islands and beach side abodes offering all-inclusive, week-long deals for a few hundred pounds.

We take a look at some of the holiday hotspots with the biggest bargains over the coming months.

Costa Brava, Spain

A seven-day package holiday in the northern Spanish region comes in at £561 per person over the summer.

A particularly cheap deal can be found at the H.Top Olympic Hotel, which is currently selling a week's holiday for two people for £662.

If you tire of splashing around in the warm Mediterranean sea or the hotel pool, there is plenty to do on the coastline.

A great day out can be had discovering the remains of a Greek and Roman city near the mouth of the River Fluvià or in the limestone caves of Can Marca.

In comparison, seven days in Tenerife comes in at more than £900 per person on average within the same timeframe, and Cyprus also just over £900, meaning you could save over £400 per person looking at alternative holiday options.

Agadir, Morocco

Based on up to date data this week from price comparison site Travelsupermarket, Agadir is one of the best value holiday destinations this summer.

A trip to the Moroccan city comes in at £595 per person on average, based on a seven day all inclusive holiday in the summer of 2023, inclusive of return flights from the UK.

That means there are currently much cheaper trips than that to be bagged this summer such as Kenzi Europa Agadir where seven nights and return flights can be yours for £311 in June.

While you are there you can explore the Souk El Had and pick up some traditional Moroccan textiles, spices, jewellery, and hand-crafted item, or visit what remains of the Agadir Oufella after it was ruined in an earthquake.

France

France holidays in general are currently tipped to offer a good value holiday if you know where to look and book quickly enough.

For example in June you could spend a week in the Holiday Inn Lyon Vaise for £419 per person, accommodation which provides great access to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.

The cathedral can be climbed up offering breath-taking views of Lyon as well as a stunning large dome, two bell towers, and an impressive interior.

An average all-board package holiday in France currently costs £583pp, according to Travelsupermarket.

For those looking for cheap ways to get to Paris, it's worth keeping an eye on Eurostar sales as they often release cheap tickets from around £35 each way.

Dalaman, Turkey

The relative weakness of the lira means that holidays in Turkey continue to be a bargain, and this is evidenced by the seven day stay at Club Sunsets Apartments for less than £300 in June.

While in the town you could take a Gulet Cruise and experience the stunning blue-green coastline on a traditional Turkish boat, or enjoy swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing along the way.

Another great day out can be found at the Ancient Ruins of Letoon.

Dalaman tends to be a hotspot in the summer too, as it has heaps of brilliant cheap hotels, restaurants and fun family-friendly resorts, so it's well worth having on your radar especially if you're tied to school holiday dates.

Rhodes

One of the best Greek islands, Rhodes can be an absolute bargain - but the research shows it's better to opt for self-catering if you do want to keep costs down.

The Greek island is a lovely 27C on average at the start of the summer, the cooling sea winds ensuring you're not overly baked.

At the moment a week's self catering with flights from London at the Panorama Faliraki can be yours for just £223 in June.

On the island you can visit the Acropolis of Lindos or Ancient Kameiro, or take a boat tour along the stunning coastlines.

Malta

The small Mediterranean archipelago is a great place to visit at any time of the year, and at the moment there are several week long deals including flights from the UK available for less than £300.

It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and its subterranean complex of halls and burial chambers on hand to fill you full of awe.

In the summer months Malta has a lovely climate perfect for lounging on the beach and drinking on the terraces outside late into the night.

Antalya, Turkey

Antalya is already a firm favourite with Brits come summer time, but it can be a great place to visit at any time of the year with its balmy weather, beautiful beaches and vibrant resorts.

If you fancy some relatively last minute winter sun, then the Side Royal Palace is a hotel as grand as its name suggests and can be yours from £400 per person for a week from February 18, with return flights from Gatwick included.

The hotel has several restaurants serving Italian and Turkish cuisine as well as a swimming pool and spa.

The Sensitive Premium Resort & Spa is not too far away and offers a week from February 18 from £371 per person, with flights from London Gatwick.

It boasts an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a private beach area and onsite waterpark.

Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

Sharm el Sheikh is a six hour flight away and as a consequence, full of winter sun.

Once you've made the trip you'll be treated to average temperatures of 22C in January and hours of sunshine each day.

The Dive in Resort has a huge central pool that is lined with palm trees and can be stayed it for seven days from February 22 from £498 per person, with flights from London Luton.

Meanwhile TUI is currently offering £100 off Egypt holidays departing before January 31, when your total booking costs at least £1,000.

Sicily

Sicily has a reputation - bolstered by White Lotus - of catering to the very rich.

While that side of the Italian island does exist, relatively cheap flights can be bagged to Sicily if you're eagle eyed - such as a £82 flight from London with Eastern Airways in March.

The accommodation needn't cost the world either, with seven nights in the Del Viale hotel on the island available from £277 in June.
