There were 18 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,995 confirmed new cases on Sunday, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Monday.
Sunday’s figures did not include 1,609 positive results from antigen tests. This would raise the total to 3,604.
This compared with the 19 coronavirus-related fatalities and 2,328 new cases reported on the previous day.
As of midnight Sunday, a total of 24,818 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 24,989 the previous day), including 10,038 in hospitals (down from 10,252). Of the remainder, 1,113 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 1,099) and 13,658 in home/community isolation (up from 13,629).
Of those in hospital, 677 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 678) and 291 dependent on ventilators (down from 296).
The 24-hour period also saw 2,148 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
The 18 people who died were aged from 28 to 101 years.
Bangkok logged three coonavirus-related deaths and there was one in the adjacent province of Samut Prakan.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported two deaths - one each in Chon Buri and Suphan Buri.
The North reported one death, in Phayao.
The Northeast had six fatalities - three in Yasothon and one each in Nakhon Ratchasima, Sakon Nakhon and Loei.
The South had five - two in Phuket and one each in Krabi, Songkhla and Yala.
of the 1,995 new cases over the previous 24 hours, there were 1,993 in the general population and two imported cases.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,532,100 Covid-19 cases, including 2,308,665 this year, with 4,476,564 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 30,718 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 9,020 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 334,248 in 24 hours to 554.39 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 563 to 6.36 million.
The United States had the most cases at 89.53 million, up 10,094, and the most deaths at 1.04 million, up 12.
