There were 18 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,917 confirmed new cases on Monday, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Tuesday.
This compared with the 18 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,995 new cases reported the previous day.
As of midnight Monday, a total of 24,435 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 24,818 the previous day), including 9,848 in hospitals (down from 10,038). of the remainder, 1,127 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 1,113) and 13,451 in home/community isolation (down from 13,658).
Of those in hospital, 705 were seriously ill patients with lung inflammation (up from 677) and 300 dependent on ventilators (up from 291).
The 24-hour period also saw 2,282 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
The 18 people who died were aged from 30 to 101.
Bangkok reported one more coronavirus-related death and there were two in the adjacent province of Samut Prakan.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported a total of five fatalities - in Nakhon Sawan, Sing Buri, Samut Songkhram, Chon Buri and Chachoengsao.
The North reported three deaths, all in Chiang Mai.
The Northeast had five - three in Udon Thani and one each in Sakon Nakhon and Ubon Ratchathani.
The South had two, in Phuket and Surat Thani.
Of the 1,917 new cases over the previous 24 hours, there were 1,905 in the general population, nine among prison inmates and three imported.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,534,017 Covid-19 cases, including 2,310,582 this year, with 4,478,846 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 30,736 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 9,028 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 476,555 in 24 hours to 555.23 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 804 to 6.36 million.
The United States had the most cases at 89.57 million, up 13,317, and the most deaths at 1.04 million, up 38.
