There were 1,784 more Covid-19 cases and 18 fatalities recorded on Sunday, the Public Health Ministry reported on Monday.
This compared with 1,892 new cases and 22 coronavirus-related fatalities on Saturday, reported on Sunday morning.
There were 1,783 local cases and one imported case.
On Sunday, 2,166 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Sunday’s figures, reported on Monday, did not include 2,345 positive results from antigen tests over the past 24 hours. This would raise the total to 4,129.
As of midnight Sunday, a total of 20,911 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment, including 10,396 in hospitals. The remainder included those in hospitel facilities (1,077) and in home/community isolation (9,261), according to the daily update posted by the Department of Disease Control.
Of those in hospital, 619 were seriously ill with lung inflammation and 299 dependent on ventilators.
According to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, the 18 people who died were aged from 43 to 99 years with an average age of 85. All were Thais.
Bangkok reorded one more death. There were none in adjacent provinces.
Seven other central plains provinces further from the capital had one coronavirus-related death - Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Rayong and Phetchaburi.
The North reported two deaths, in Chiang Mai and Kamphaeng Phet.
The Northeast reported seven fatalities - three in Yosothon, two in Nakhon Ratchasima and one each in Khon Kaen and Maha Sarakham.
The South had one death, in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Vaccinations continued to progress, with 139.15 million doses administered as of Sunday. The government said 81.8% of the population has now received at least one dose of the vaccine, 76.2% at least two shots and 42.0% at least one booster shot.
On Sunday, 40,906 vaccine doses were administered - 2,740 as a first shot, 6,027 as a second, and 32,139 booster doses.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 258,753 in 24 hours to 544.29 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 563 to 6.34 million.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,500,828 Covid-19 cases in Thailand, including 2,277,393 cases this year, with 4,449,432 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll in Thailand stood at 30,485 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 8,782 so far this year.
The highest number of Covid-related fatalities in a 24-hour period was 312 recorded on Aug 13, 2021. The highest number of cases was 28,379 on April 1, 2022.
