There were 20 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,605 new patients admitted to hospitals on Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Wednesday.
This compared with 22 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,062 patients on Monday, as reported on Tuesday.
As of midnight Tuesday, a total of 14,462 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 14,495 the previous day), including 7,950 in hospitals (down from 8,085). Of the remainder, 159 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 148) and 6,343 in home/community isolation (up from 6,247).
Of those in hospitals, 695 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (up from 694) and 362 dependent on ventilators (up from 350).
As of Wednesday the daily averages over a 14-day period were - 1,665 new patients, down from 1,943 as of Aug 25 figures; 695 seriously ill patients, down from 790; 350 dependent on ventilators, down from 397; and 25 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 29.
The 24-hour period also saw 1,618 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
The 1,605 new patients were all local cases.
The 20 people who died were aged from 58 to 94 years. One was a Chinese national.
Bangkok logged one more coronavirus-related death and there were two in the adjacent province of Samut Prakan.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported 10 deaths - two each in Rayong, Chon Buri and Ratchaburi and one each in Prachin Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri and Ayutthaya.
The North reported three more deaths, in Chiang Mai.
The Northeast had four - two in Udon Thani and one each in Mukdahan and Chaiyaphum.
The South reported no more deaths.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,662,569 Covid-19 cases, including 2,439,134 this year, with 4,615,643 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,464 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,766 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 486,032 in 24 hours to 611.33 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 1,413 to 6.51 million.
The United States had the most cases at 96.72 million, up 27,657, and the most deaths at 1.07 million, up 149.
