There were 28 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,531 new patients admitted to hospitals on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Monday.
This compared with 27 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,968 patients on Saturday, as reported on Sunday.
As of midnight Sunday, a total of 18,829 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 19,624 the previous day), including 9,878 in hospitals (down from 10,180). Of the remainder, 249 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 236) and 8,620 in home/community isolation (down from 9,122).
Of those in hospitals, 883 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (up from 874) and 444 dependent on ventilators (down from 446).
The 24-hour period also saw 2,298 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
The 1,531 new patients were all local cases.
The 28 people who died were aged from 48 to 91 years.
Bangkok logged five more deaths and there was one in the adjacent province of Samut Sakhon.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported seven deaths - two each in Chon Buri, Lop Buri and Phetchaburi and one in Nakhon Sawan.
The North reported six more coronavirus-related deaths - two in Lamphun and one each in Chiang Mai, Phitchit, Phitsanulok and Nan.
The Northeast had six - two in Kalasin and one each in Mukdahan, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen and Surin.
The South had three more deaths - in Surat Thani (2) and Songkhla (1).
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,635,711 Covid-19 cases, including 2,412,276 this year, with 4,584,827 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,055 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,357 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 551,288 in 24 hours to 600.90 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 908 to 6.47 million.
The United States had the most cases at 95.34 million, up 9,260, and the most deaths at 1.06 million, up 10.
