Video footage has emerged of a security guard dragging a woman back into a Dublin shop after she was accused of shoplifting.
The woman in question is alleged to have run out of the Aldi store in Mulhuddart in West Dublin yesterday shortly after 7pm.
In the short video, she is eventually caught up to by the guard who appears to talk to her before she tries to get away from him again.
The guard manages to grab her arm with little struggle and drags her back into the shop.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of suspected theft that occurred at a retail premises in Mulhuddart Village, shortly before 7pm yesterday evening.
"A number of items were taken from the premises but were recovered a short time later."
He added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
A spokesman for Aldi Ireland said: "Aldi is aware of an incident at its store at Mulhuddart in relation to a customer and a security guard.
"The incident relates to an alleged theft that has been reported to the Gardaí."
He added: "Aldi is assisting the Gardaí with its investigation."
