Recent attacks by Russian forces have resulted in tragic casualties in various parts of Ukraine, including the capital city of Kyiv and central regions.
In Kyiv, a Russian drone strike targeted a 25-story apartment block in the western part of the city, claiming the life of a 15-year-old girl and injuring five others. The strike led to the evacuation of 100 people and caused damage to several apartments on the upper floors of the building.
Reports indicate that Russian forces launched a prolonged assault on Kyiv, lasting for 7 1/2 hours, with Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepting multiple drones during the onslaught.
Meanwhile, in the central city of Dnipro, a Russian missile struck a residential area, resulting in the deaths of a 14-year-old and three others. At least 21 individuals, including children, were injured in the attack, which caused extensive damage to numerous residential buildings and a medical facility.
Additional casualties were reported in other regions of Ukraine, including the southern Kherson region and the northeast. In the Kherson region, a man and woman lost their lives due to a drone attack, while a 61-year-old woman was killed by shelling in the northeast.
Tragically, a woman in the Kyiv province lost her life after being struck by flying debris from a drone attack, as a 13-year-old boy sustained injuries in a separate incident in the region.
The series of attacks underscore the devastating impact of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with innocent civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. International condemnation has been swift, with calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomatic negotiations to resolve the crisis.
