Moment Thomas Cashman shoots at intended target Joseph Nee before murdering Olivia Pratt-Korbel

This is the moment that Thomas Cashman pursued and shot his intended target, Joseph Nee.

Nee, a convicted burglar, is seen entering the frame moments before Cashman fires two shots at him in quick succession.

A man walking next to Nee hunches down, covering his head with his hands as the shots sound. He is then seen in footage sprinting erratically away from the scene.

At the same time, Cashman approaches Nee, who is crouching on the floor. He attempts to grab him while firing another shot. Cashman then tries to shoot Nee a fourth time, but the weapon appears to malfunction.

Nee manages to get up and flee, with Cashman chasing after him.

Moments later, Olivia Pratt-Korbel's mother, Cheryl, opens her front door to see what the noise is, and Nee bursts into her home, pursued by the gunman.

As Ms Korbel tries to close the door, Cashman fires two more bullets, one of which passes through her hand and hits her daughter in the chest, who later died.

The court heard that Cashman had been determined to take out Nee after a feud erupted between rival Merseyside gangs.

Cashman had spent the day scoping out his target and was lying in wait for Nee on the evening of Aug 22 last year.

When Nee left a property in Finch Lane in the Knotty Ash area of Liverpool, Cashman approached him while wearing a mask and fired three shots from a 9mm pistol.

Prosecutor David McLachlan, KC, said he had carried out the “pre-planned” attack without “any consideration” for members of the community.

The court heard that Cashman, of Grenadier Drive, West Derby, was a “high-level” cannabis dealer in the area.

He was found guilty on Thursday of the murder of Olivia, the attempted murder of Nee and the wounding with intent of Cheryl, and two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Cashman will be sentenced on Monday.
