A man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in the early hours.
Police were called to Hawthorn Grove in Seacombe at around 2.2am on Saturday February 25, to reports a man had sustained a serious stab wound. He was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A 24-year-old man from Egremont has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding. He has been taken to a police station in Merseyside where he remains in custody.

A cordon remains in place around an address into Saturday evening. Merseyside Police are carrying out door-to-door and CCTV enquiries.
A spokesperson for the force said: "A man has been arrested following reports of a stabbing in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 25 February) on Hawthorne Grove in Seacombe.
"Just after 2.20am we received a report that a man had sustained a serious stab wound in the area. The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
"A 24-year-old man from Egremont has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding. He has been taken to a police station in Merseyside where he remains in custody.
"An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are ongoing in the local area. A cordon is also in place whist officers continue forensic examinations.
