Bharatpur Police arrests two in Nasir and Junaid kidnap and murder case after two months

JAIPUR: After a gap of almost two months, a team of Bharatpur Police in Rajasthan on Friday has arrested two persons involved in the kidnaping and murder of Junaid and Nasir, both residents of Ghatmika village in Bharatpur.

The accused — identified as Monu Rana (27) and Gogi(31) — were arrested by the special team of Bharatpur police from a farm house in Dehradun.

Police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each on both of them and they were among eight people who were named as the main accused by the police.

Earlier, on February 17, police had arrested Rinku Saini in connection with the Junaid-Nasir murder case in Rajasthan.

With three persons in police custody, search is now on for all the accused who are currently absconding.

"Their interrogation will fetch us more details on the whereabouts of the rest who are to be arrested in this case. Our team visited almost seven states and worked hard to nab them," said Gaurav Srivastav, inspector general of police, Bharatpur Range told TOI.

Srivastav added that Monu has a confessionary shop at Paluwas village near Bhiwani of Haryana and Gogi works as an ambulance driver used to ferry injured cows at a Gau Sewa Kendra at Bhiwani.

On February 15, Nasir (25) and Junaid (35) were attacked by a mob on the suspicion that they were cow smugglers.

The mob abducted the duo and later set on fire the car while they were sitting inside.

Their charred bodies were found in a Bolero car in Barwas village in Haryana's Bhiwani district on the next day.

Rajasthan police had identified eight accused in the case and an FIR was registered under Sections 143, 365, 367 and 368 of the Indian Penal Code.

The eight accused included Monu, Gogi, Anil, Kalu, Srikant, Kishore, Vikas and Shashikant. During investigation, it was revealed that 12 others were also involved.
