Ant McPartlin has given rare insight into his new home life – and being step dad to two teenage girls.
The 45-year-old TV presenter is engaged to former personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett, who he has dated since 2018.
Ant and 43-year-old Anne-Marie became engaged on Christmas Eve last year – with Ant popping the question just two years after his divorce to 44-year-old make-up designer Lisa Armstrong was finalised.
With a happy new married life ahead of him, Ant has also gained two daughters through his relationship with Anne-Marie.
The former PA has two girls from her own previous marriage – which was to businessman Scott Corbett, whom she divorced in 2017.
Ant has now spoken about being a step-dad to the teenage girls in an interview with The Telegraph.
He said: “I’ve got two step-daughters, 13 and 15 and they are more socially aware at that age than I was in my mid-20s.
“Than I still am.”
Ant seems to be applying a little pressure on the teenage girls – hinting he thinks they could save the world.
He gushed: “It’s not going to be our generation that saves the world. Look at Greta Thunberg, single-handedly almost making the world aware of climate change.
“It’s that kind of energy that this generation has got and they’ll save the rest of us. We’re just trying to make it easier for them.”
Ant and Anne-Marie became engaged at Christmas 2020, with the Saturday Night Takeaway star getting down on one knee to present a ring reportedly worth £200,000.
Ant’s previous marriage – which lasted 11 years – came to a crashing end in 2017 after the TV star put then-wife Lisa “through hell” as he struggled with addictions.
Despite Lisa standing by her man as he went through a public meltdown, she was chucked by the Geordie Lad not long after he checked into a rehabilitation centre in 2017.
