undefinedThe Kansas City Chiefs will host the Los Angeles Chargers in a pivotal Week 7 AFC West matchup.
The Chargers’ hopes for a division title will remain alive with a win, but a win for the Chiefs will give K.C. a nice cushion for their quest of an eighth straight division championship. With plenty of playmakers on each team’s offense, there are a lot of intriguing betting possibilities.
Let’s take a look at the best prop bets for this matchup from DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM:
WR Rashee Rice ANYTIME TD and Chiefs win (+220) - Bet MGM
The rookie Rice is heating up in the Chiefs’ offense and leads all K.C. wide receivers in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He is clearly the best pass-catching option behind tight end Travis Kelce and he received considerable praise from coach Andy Reid this past week. With Rice becoming more dangerous each week and the Chiefs being 5.5-point favorites, this is a solid bet.
RB Austin Ekeler OVER 89.5 rushing + receiving yards (-115) - BetMGM
Ekeler returned to action for L.A. last week and plugged right back into being the workhorse back. He has been one of the most productive backs in the NFL over the last few years and is a dual threat rushing and receiving. Last year Ekeler racked up over 90 total yards in each of his two games against K.C. With him as the centerpiece of the Charger offense, this is a pretty safe bet.
QB Patrick Mahomes OVER 279.5 passing yards (-115) - DraftKings
Mahomes threw for over 300 yards last week against a poor Denver Broncos’ secondary and will now face a Chargers pass defense that ranks dead last in the NFL. With the rapport he is building with Rashee Rice and the unstoppable chemistry he has with Travis Kelce, getting to 279 yards shouldn’t be a huge task for Mahomes.
K Harrison Butker OVER 1.5 FGs made (-120) - DraftKings
Butker has been money this season, hitting a perfect 14-14 on field goal attempts. Last week in the swirling wind he crushed a 60-yard field goal attempt with room to spare. The Chiefs’ offense has struggled a bit to cash in for touchdowns in the red zone this year, so Butker getting a couple of opportunities to knock in some kicks is a solid bet.
TE Travis Kelce, RB Isiah Pacheco, RB Austin Ekeler, WR Keenan Allen ANYTIME TD's (+1977) - FanDuel
A lot has to happen here, but it’s not as crazy as it may seem. For the Chiefs, Kelce is always the best bet to get into the endzone and Pacheco has by far been the workhorse back in the K.C. backfield. Given the Chargers’ defensive struggles this season, it should be expected that the Chiefs will put up points.
As for L.A., Ekeler has the most rushing touchdowns of any running back over the last two years and Allen leads the team in touchdowns this season with four. This bet hits big and the statistics back up the risk.
