Woman dies after 'tragic' Nottinghamshire bungalow fire

An investigation has been launched after a woman died in a fire at a Nottinghamshire home. A woman, who was in her 60s, has died following a bungalow fire on Muskham Court, Mansfield, on Thursday, June 22.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire were called to the property in the early hours of the morning and were able to remove the casualty from the fire. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the woman could not be revived and was pronounced dead on scene, the fire service explained.

An investigation is now being carried out jointly by the police and fire service. “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are very much with this woman’s family and friends at this sad time,” said Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Group Manager, Tom Archer.

“We’d like to thank our blue light colleagues for their support at this incident and will now work with Nottinghamshire Police to establish the cause of this fire.”
