Warriors are open to trading anyone other than Steph Curry

According to Shams Charania, who was speaking via FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” the Golden State Warriors could be open to trading anyone not named Steph Curry. Charania’s comments came on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the Warriors suffered their second blowout loss in a row.

The Warriors have found themselves floated in trade rumors over the past few weeks. Their losing record, aging core and lack of clear direction have all been offered as reasons the front office could look to inject some fresh talent into the squad. Losing to the New Orleans Pelicans will only serve as a catalyst for those rumors to continue heating up.

“The mindset in Golden State right now is that everyone but Steph Curry is on the table,” Charania said. “That’s their mindset. Realistically, there’s an asterisk. Like Klay Thompson, would they want to keep him long-term and keep him Golden State? That’s been their hope. They have not been able to reach a contract extension with him. … Wiggins and everyone else on that roster except Steph Curry have to be in play. Two blowout losses in a row; they haven’t even been close in these games. They’re going to be looking to make moves.”

With less than a month remaining until the trade deadline, the front office will be working on a deadline. Whether it chooses to make a trade in the hope of turning Golden State’s season around remains to be seen.

However, given the current state of the roster and the lack of balance across the board, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some new faces heading to the Bay Area, even if it’s not the star names everybody is hoping for.
