The Ukraine Euro 2024 squad has been finalised by manager Serhiy Rebrov, and they'll prove tough opponents for any side.

Ukraine managed the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 and since then, they've arguably improved in quality. Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has had an excellent season at Real Madrid – despite being dropped for the final for the returning Thibaut Courtois – Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk has shown glimpses of quality in a faltering side and Artem Dovbyk top-scored in La Liga for Girona.

Yes, the Blue and Yellow needed the play-offs to get here – but there were extenuating circumstances. Ukraine haven't been playing at home since the conflict with Russia began and coupled with a tricky group that pitted them against England, Italy, North Macedonia and Malta, it was always going to be a tough task.

There's no shame in their qualification performances, either. European champions Italy finished level on points wth Ukraine and solid draws earned against both England the Azzurri will have Serhiy Rebrov convinced that he's capable of more this summer.

The former Tottenham striker has taken over from his former partner in crime, Andriy Shevchenko, and there's hope that he can give Ukrainians something to smile at Euro 2024. Belgium, Slovakia and Romania are up first for this side, meaning there's a strong chance of a second-place finish in the group. From there, who knows?

Like with every team, FourFourTwo will bring you all the latest on Ukraine as we report live from the European Championship. This includes information on how to watch every game, all the fixtures at the tournament, and who the favourites are

Ukraine manager: Serhiy Rebrov

Appointed as national team manager last year, Serhiy Rebrov has settled in quickly as Ukraine boss, winning six and drawing three of his opening 10 matches. And while English fans might recognise him best from his playing career at Tottenham and West Ham, Rebrov's managerial career has been just as impressive.

He's won league titles with Dynamo Kyiv, Ferencvaros and Al Ain, as well as other Cup competitions since starting out ten years ago. Reaching Euro 2024 certainly helped improve his stock, too.

Ukraine's star player

Oleksandr Zinchenko

For the national team, Zinchenko is utilised as a midfielder, tasked with dictating play with his expert range of passing, all while leading the team as captain, too. His preferred position, Zinchenko has excelled on occasion for Ukraine in that role, especially with Everton full-back Vitaliy Mykolenko performing well on the left side of defence.

Zinchenko isn't alone in attacking areas, either, with Mykhailo Mudryk possessing the ability and potential to unlock defences with his dribbling, while Artem Dovbyk has proven for Girona this season that he is a deadly finisher. Still, it is Zinchenko who has the capability to keep everything ticking for Ukraine - without him, they'd certainly have less of a chance.

FAQs

How many players are Ukraine allowed to take to Euro 2024?

The Ukraine Euro 2024 squad will be comprised of 26 players, after UEFA announced in May that expanded teams will remain for the tournament in Germany. Initially, UEFA wanted squads to revert back to 23 players, but teams pushed back against that idea by arguing the demanding club schedules increases the risk of injury on smaller squads.
