Tornado Watch Issued For Parts Of Missouri And Kansas

An emergency alert of a magnitude 4.7 earthquake is seen on a cellphone in New York City

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of western and central Missouri and eastern Kansas until 4 a.m. central time. This watch covers more than 3 million people, including major cities like Kansas City and Springfield.

The primary threats associated with this tornado watch are the possibility of a few tornadoes, widespread damaging wind gusts of up to 75 mph, and isolated large hail. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and be prepared to take necessary precautions.

Currently, there are four tornado watches in effect across several states, including South Dakota, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. Over 10 million people are under these watches, with cities like Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita, Kansas City, Springfield, and Des Moines included in the alert.

In addition to the tornado watch, a flash flood warning has been issued for several communities north of Oklahoma City, such as Perry, Morrison, and Lucien, until 12:15 a.m. Residents in these areas are urged to move to higher ground immediately to ensure their safety.

The National Weather Service continues to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary. It is crucial for residents in the affected regions to stay tuned to weather alerts and follow any evacuation orders or safety recommendations given by local authorities.
