Tom Grennan helps keen Coventry City fan from Argentina realise Wembley dream

Tom Grennan has made a Coventry City fan from Argentina's dreams come true after offering to cover all expenses so he can watch the Championship play-off final next weekend.

Devoted fan Lauti was planning to sell his car so he can afford flights and a ticket to watch his beloved club at Wembley before the singer-songwriter helped out his fellow Sky Blue supporter.

A video from the Argentinian went viral when explaining the extreme lengths he would take to watch his side's potential return to the top flight for the first time in 22 years when they take on Luton Town on Saturday, May 27 for a place in the Premier League.

Speaking to BBC Sport Coventry and Warwickshire, Lauti said: "What happened is just unbelievable. I have no words to describe what I am feeling now.

"When I started to support Coventry we were playing at Wembley too, but we were playing against Exeter in League Two so I never expected this.

"This is more than a dream come true. I am selling my car. I think my girl is not happy because I am selling it to go to Wembley.

"We are one game away from our dream, from playing again in the Premier League so vamos Sky Blues."

Tom saw the interview and was quick to take to Twitter to offer his generous offer to Lauti, despite missing the match himself due to performing at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee on the same day.

He wrote: "I WILL PAY FOR THIS LAD!!!! I can’t go to the final as I’m performing at BBCR1 weekend in Dundee.

"Devastated to miss the game, but instead I’ll pay for this lad to come over for the game. Does he have a ticket? Someone let me know."

The 27-year-old singer, who was on the books at Luton as a youth and starred in last year's Soccer Aid for England with two goals, replied to fan Ashley Monk who had set up a Go Fund Me page for Lauti.

Tom said: "I’ll pay for Lauti to fly from Argentina and Ronald’s development in Uganda. What is it? £2000? DM my Gaffa @dawkinscov1980 and we’ll get this squared within the hour."

More than two hours later, Ashley shared a screenshot of Tom's transaction of £2,000. The Little Bit Of Love hitmaker quote tweeted saying: "MAN OF MY WORD MATE."
