Titans’ Ryan Tannehill brutally honest about pass protection in Week 17

The Tennessee Titans suffered their 11th loss of the 2023 campaign in Week 17 for many of the same reasons they lost their previous 10.

The offense once again failed to generate much of anything, with the Titans scoring just three points the entire game. Tennessee did make one trip into the red zone but were thwarted on fourth down to end the drive.

A big reason for the offensive struggles was pass protection, as has been the case all season long.

Quarterbacks Will Levis and Ryan Tannehill were sacked a total of six times, with Tannehill taking five of them. The lone sack on Levis ended his day after he suffered a foot injury.

After the game, Tannehill showed he’s just about at the end of his rope with the poor pass protection, something that has been an issue for much of his tenure in Nashville.

When asked if there were some plays he didn’t have a chance, the veteran signal-caller, who played better than last week but got no help from his offensive line, was brutally honest.

“Yeah, definitely,” he answered, per Paul Kuharsky.

Tannehill is no stranger to poor pass protection upfront, as it’s been an issue for much of his tenure in Nashville. He had a perfect way to encapsulate his time in Tennessee, which is likely coming to an end after this season:

“I feel like John Wick at the end of the movie,” Tannehill said, according to Jim Wyatt.
