The ES Shopping Shortlist: What to shop, see and know in May 2024

Welcome to our monthly need-to-know dispatch of the latest and greatest releases that should be on your radar for the month ahead.

With a full-time job, busy social life, and social media accounts to update, it’s challenging to keep up with all the shiny newness out there.

Here at ES Best, we’ve got our ears to the ground and our noses pressed against digital shop fronts, always looking for the newest fashion, events, and food and drink - so you don’t have to. From sell-out collections to limited edition collaborations, with exclusive events, fresh launches and new store unveilings in between, we’ve got you covered so you don’t miss out on a thing.

May is here, and along with our favourite seasonal meme (you know the one, starring 00s US boyband N*Sync), it's time to embrace spring good and proper.

With temperatures hotting up and mixed with seasonal showers, it spells disaster for daily dressing. Not to worry; we've got you covered with all manner of transitional fashion to see you through. Best of all, there are plenty of seasonal sales to take the financial edge off new purchases.

May has a party mood, not least because two Bank Holiday weekends are sandwiching the month. Whether you're planning to spend the bonus days at home or away, we've got plenty of ideas to make the most of your leisure time, from booze deals to party games and the best TVs if all you want is to kick back with a cold one.

And of course, there’s the usual smorgasbord of glittering new launches, exciting collabs and epic shopping drops to make this April glorious.

If you’re ever at a loss for something to do at the weekend or want to scratch the retail therapy itch, we’ll keep this page updated all month long; it’s best to bookmark it so you’ve got the insider’s guide right at your fingertips.

eBay launches Dyson flash sale

Dyson makes some of the leading home and personal tech around, but its prices can leave many fans out of the party. eBay is correcting that with a flash sale on refurbished Dyson tech from May 1 - 3.

There’s no need to worry about buying refurbished either: all items from eBay’s refurbished hub are inspected, cleaned and refurbished by the manufacturer itself or a manufacturer-approved seller, meaning you can buy with confidence knowing new purchases have been given the once over by experts.
