Tekken World Tour 2024 Returns this April and Features Tekken 8

Bandai Namco announced that Tekken World Tour 2024 is returning this April. It's going to be an in-person competitive event and marks the debut of competitions which feature Tekken 8. Tekken World Tour 2024 starts at EVO Japan which is this April 13.

Tekken 8 is coming out January 26 and to be available for the PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. By making use of what the Unreal Engine 5 has to offer, the game brings this legendary fighting game franchise to a new generation. Players can look forward to seeing the signature traits of the series be elevated to another level. Other new features include the new visuals, destructible environments, and the remodeled characters.

Tournament Format Updates

Tekken World Tour 2024 includes global and regional leaderboards along with the return of Master+, Master, Challenger, and Dojo in-person competitions. The top players from each event type gets awarded with points and the ones with the highest point earners on the global and regional leaderboards advancing to the Global Finals to fight for the title Tekken World Tour 2024 Champion.

Master+ EVO Japan 2024

There's going to be two Master+ qualifying events which starts with EVO Japan 2024 happening on April 27 to April 29. Registration is open until March 22.

DOJO Events

At the end of March, tournament organizers can submit their applications for DOJO events. Players at DOJO events are going to be eligible not only for regional leaderboard points but even for the global leaderboard points.

These events are offline and in-person competitions that are open to all players around the world. By the way, the number of awarded points are scaled to the size of the tournament.

Brand Partnerships

For this upcoming event, Bandai Namco also announced that they've partnered with three major brands. The first is Chipotle, which again shows its commitment to not only the fighting game community but also professional esports. As part of this partnership, fans get to choose the next Tekken 8 themed menu item for Chipotle. This is a limited time promo and fans can vote here.

Another partner is Venum, which unveiled its latest apparel line as part of the collaboration with Tekken. It offers a good mix of style, comfort, and performance. This collaboration is able to capture the essence of three legends of the franchise which are Jin Kazama, Paul Phoenix, and Marshall Law. This collaboration line is going to be available on the Venum store, as well as retailers, starting June 2024.

Finally, there's Victrix by PDP, which is creating a line of eight Special Edition Tekken 8 products. The line includes:

  • Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Controller in a special Rage Art motif
  • Tekken 8 Victrix Tournament backpack
  • Tekken 8 character variations of the Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick
    • Jin
    • Kazuya
    • King
    • Law
    • Lili
    • Xiaoyu.

Pre-orders for the Victrix by PDP x TEKKEN special edition products start late January with the release expected in April 2024 for the US and May 2024 worldwide.
