Strictly Come Dancing's Tony Adams tipped to leave show this weekend

Tony Adams has been widely tipped to leave Strictly this weekend - despite the promise shown in recent weeks. With Strictly 2022 now passed its half way point, bookies are predicting that Tony and Katya Jones could be shown the door this weekend.

They have been the focus of 50% of all bets in the next elimination market, with William Hill punters tipping him to go at 9/4, reports Chronicle Live. Ellie Taylor, who has topped the leaderboard alongside pro Johannes Radebe, is next in the betting for the chop at 5/2, while Hamza Yassin continues his close pursuit of the Glitterball Trophy as the 2/5 favourite to win the competition

On the latest odds, William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Despite a recent surge in his ballroom form, Tony Adams can’t win over the punters who are unforgivingly backing him for the exit at 9/4, with 50% of all bets on the ex-Arsenal man to leave next.

“Ellie Taylor is next in line for the chop, according to our punters, and we make her 5/2 to head home at the next elimination. In the race for the trophy, it looks to be plain sailing from here for Hamza Yassin, who holds firm at the top of the betting as the 2/5 favourite to claim the title.”

While he hasn't yet troubled the top of the leaderboard, ex England defender Tony has definitely been one of the most talked about stars in the Strictly ballroom this year. He donned the Arsenal colours for a football inspired routine to Go West in week one, before stripping off for a Full Monty themed performance, which left the judges and viewers at home lost for words.

Tony and pro partner Katya have yet to drop into the dance-off, a fact that has been a bone of contention for some Strictly fans, as good dancers have had to battle to keep their place in the competition. The couple's series high came in Halloween Week, when they received their highest score yet, as it was reported that Tony was doing very well in the public vote, due to a some orchestrated support from Arsenal fans.
