Stanford University Reports Potential Hamas Affiliation On Campus

Columbia University Encampment Continues

Stanford University officials have reported sending a photo to the FBI of an individual at a campus encampment location who was seen wearing a headband resembling those worn by Hamas members. The university expressed concern over the photo circulating on social media showing an individual on White Plaza wearing a green headband similar to those worn by Hamas members, specifically the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

The university emphasized that Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States government, further stating that they were unable to identify the individual in the photo but had forwarded it to the FBI for investigation. The FBI's San Francisco field office declined to comment on the matter.

While the university did not provide the photo of the individual in question, it referenced a photo circulating online that was made public by a group called Jews of Stanford. The group's letter, posted on the Action Network, a progressive non-profit tech platform, expressed concern over individuals openly dressed as members of a terrorist organization on campus.

Stanford University expressed its unease about non-student outsiders participating in activities on campus but did not provide specific details regarding the photo. In response to the situation, the University Jews of Stanford urged swift and decisive action against individuals dressed as members of a terrorist organization, warning of the potential dangers of not addressing such behavior.
